Twice a year Dickens enthusiasts, strolling players, re-enactors, Dickensian 'characters', not to mention a few oddballs, join the public in a Festival to commemorate and celebrate the life of Charles Dickens.This site is here mainly for the benefit of all supporters of the Rochester Dickens Festivals, and to encourage anyone who is thinking about joining in the fun. We have no official status, but keep in contact with the Festival organisers. We have updated the site, and we are gradually introducing a new way of presenting pictures - we hope you like it, but please do let us know about any problems
The Rochester Dickens Festival website supports the Dickens Chalet Restoration Appeal. The chalet now resides in the garden of Eastgate House, and looks magnificent, but it is in urgent need of restoration for the 200th Anniversary of Dickens' birth in 2012.
