Retrospect Operas project to record the first great Dickens musical
Retrospect Opera, a registered UK charity, is raising funds to make a recording of Pickwick (1889) by Sir Francis Burnand and Edward Solomon, the first great Dickens musical. They have a supporters scheme whereby anyone who donates £25 or more gets their name on the Retrospect website and a copy of the recording and booklet when it is released. The Rochester and Chatham Branch of the Dickens Fellowship
This is one of the oldest and most respected branches of the Dickens Fellowship. Gerald Dickens, the Great Great Grandson of Charles Dickens is the Branch President. Monthly meetings are held, usually in the Education Room of Dickens World. For more information visit their website.

Broadstairs Dickens Festival
Follow in Charles Dickens' footsteps by coming to Broadstairs, which he visited between 1837 and 1859. See the delights of the town which he named "Our English Watering Place".

If you want to contact the organisers of the Festival, you need Medway Council. Their pages for the Festivals aren't always available, so the best course is to go to their events page and enter 'Festivals'and 'Rochester' in the 'Events' box. Alternatively, contact Medway Visitor Centre.

The Medway Queen Preservation Society
'The historic paddle steamer PS Medway Queen is currently being fitted out, berthed on Gillingham Pier. Saved from its fate as a derelict, a core group of volunteers formed the MQPS to save the ship which saved 7,000 Allied servicemen during the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940.'
